HEALTHCARE SUMMIT PULLS UP LAME Obama, Dems to Announce Reform Bill Before Meeting With GOP (James Lansberry is in CST)

Image

Just when the rhetoric appears to demonstrate some effort to achieve a bipartisan healthcare reform bill, President Obama and the leftist Democrats in Congress make another move that smells of strong-arming their agenda.

As the vice president of Samaritan Ministries, a successful free-market healthcare-coverage alternative, James Lansberry is someone with a very serious interest in any healthcare policy being kicked around Washington. And, like many on the outside looking in, the announcement expected from the Obama administration that Senate and House Democrats have a reconciled final bill doesn’t sit well . . .

. . . not when Obama is still preparing to meet with Republicans in a meeting he scheduled himself and touted as an invite to hear their ideas on the issue. At the time, many felt the tone of his invite was more of a stubborn challenge. Now, the meeting is shaping up to be a lame duck.

To make matters worse, Democratic officials have confessed that the new reform plan is being written to function as an attachment to a budget bill—clearly a response to Republican Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts that stripped the Dems of their 60-vote supermajority in the Senate, because a budget bill only needs a 51-vote win to pass through any filibuster attempt.

Meanwhile, the American people continue to speak in opposition, as legislators in more than 30 states are working to pass their own statutes or ballot initiatives designed to protect their citizens from being forced into making unwanted healthcare decisions imposed on them by federal mandates.

For a highly educated commentary on these latest developments and a projection on how they may go forward from here, particularly in this very intriguing election year, call Special Guests today to schedule an interview with James Lansberry.
