TEA PARTY GETTING SERIOUS: New Breed of Politicians Receiving Formal Training (Guest in EST)
When the swells of the Tea Party movement first began to rise across the United States, sitting politicians in Washington not only didn’t listen to them. They mocked and marginalized them. Some attempting to just brush them aside as an angry white minority.
Since then, the Tea Partiers have pushed back with a surprising mainstream recourse that has resulted in several upset elections. But, apparently, as Ned Ryun, President of American Majority, can attest, they are not done yet.
This sleeping giant mass of voters disgusted with the status quo in D.C.—many of whom have never been politically active before—are now ready for the next step. And, like the true conservatives they are, believing in self-initiative, they are even serious about running for office themselves.
“People have realized that it’s not enough to simply talk or protest,” says Ryun in a recent joint statement released by his and several other grassroots conservative organizations. “There has to be meaningful, purposeful action. The grassroots want to be empowered in a real way, not whipped into a frenzy with nothing practical to take home and apply. We’re going to give people the resources necessary to change the system they are confronted with.”
By “giving people resources,” Ryun is referring to the action these organizations are taking that was the cause for the news release. Together with the John Hancock Committee for the States, RedState.com and Smart Girl Politics, Ryun’s American Majority is conducting a traveling series of Post-Party Summits called Organizing for a Free America that will provide everyday Americans with the formal training they need to be activists and politicians who can affect real change in their communities.
For more information on the Summit and its tour schedule, a report on the almost overwhelming level of participation and a general look inside the renewed political energy in the American people unlike anything seen in decades, call Special Guests to schedule an interview with Ned Ryun. It will be an uplifting perspective that will have folks in your audience believing they really can take back their country.

ABOUT YOUR EXPERT GUEST, NED RYUN:
A former presidential writer for George W. Bush and son of former U.S. Congressman Jim Ryun, Ned Ryun is currently the President of American Majority, a national organization committed to identifying and training liberty‐minded leaders. Ned was the co‐founder and former director of the Generation Joshua program.
Ned earned degrees in English and History from the University of Kansas and has co‐authored Heroes Among Us and The Courage to Run with his father and his twin brother, Drew. Ned and his wife, Becca, reside in Northern Virginia with their sons, Nathaniel and James and their daughter, Charlotte “Lottie.”
When asked which Founding Father he relates to most with, and why, Ryun answered, “Roger Sherman. I am fascinated by a man who is not well known, but who signed the Articles of Confederation, helped draft and then signed the Declaration of Independence, and then also signed the Constitution and was a member of the First Congress, sitting on the committee that helped draft the Bill of Rights. He had a tremendous impact on the founding of this country.”
ABOUT THE AMERICAN MAJORITY
At American Majority, we believe that real political change begins at the local level. It is going to take engaged citizens working together in their communities to effectively implement freedom on a national level. We believe that individual liberty will only be achieved through limited government and free markets and that by training candidates and activists to be effective towards those goals today, we will enhance tomorrow.
American Majority is a national non-profit, non-partisan political training institute whose mission is to train and equip a national network of leaders committed to individual freedom through limited government and the free market. Headquartered in Purcellville, Virginia, we currently have state offices in Arkansas, Kansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Texas, with plans to open additional state offices in 2010.
Our organizational philosophy remains centered around the grassroots. We work hard to ensure our premier training programs are accessible to activists and candidates around the country. Since our inception in 2008, we conducted hundreds of training sessions in dozens of states, providing resources and education to more than 5,000 candidates and grassroots activists.
