DIVORCE IS DA’BOMB: Statistics Continue to Mount Against Marriage (Guest in EDT)

New York is about to become the last of all 50 states to adopt a no-fault divorce law and eradicate conventional law that says a couple must agree upon the divorce or one spouse must prove the damaging “fault” of the other, such as abuse or infidelity. It seems like a ho-hum legal development, except that up to this point, New York had one of the lowest divorce rates in the nation.

Meanwhile, a research report just released gets right after the sad cultural trend that shows divorce moving past acceptance to become some kind of fashionable “thing to do.” The report reveals that being friends with someone who gets divorced increases one’s chances of also getting a divorce by 147 percent.

To think that marriage is virtually doomed from the start may seem outrageous for some, or it may not—in which case, it can be extremely discouraging and disheartening.

Businessman, author, minister and divorced father, Rodney Winters, is experienced in sharing both impressions. And, now, he’s available for interviews to talk about his new book, Go Into the House, that documents his own journey through a failed marriage and provides a strength perspective for others facing the same concerns, doubts or anguish.

Like many people entering into marriage, Winters never “in a million years” anticipated the chances of seeing his relationship with his wife fail. In his own personal assessment, Winters was a Christian man who always tries to do the right thing. He didn’t believe in divorce, and it certainly wasn’t something he wanted.

But, as he tragically discovered, sometimes that isn’t enough, and he found himself in a bad situation destined for divorce and a challenge with which good Christians, who truly value marriage, have no idea how to manage and navigate.

As a guest on your show, Winters can provide a compelling insight on this cornerstone of American culture, and offer your audience hope by sharing how he overcame the challenge of his own divorce through the process of finding Christ’s love in areas he didn’t expect. Call Special Guests today.

ABOUT MR. WINTERS’ BOOK, GO INTO THE HOUSE:

Go Into the House takes Winters’ experiences of marriage and divorce and relates them to the older brother in the biblical story of the prodigal son. He identifies with the disappointment and hurt of the older son in that story.

With this book, Rodney brings a perspective of someone who has been through the dark valley of a difficult marriage and subsequent divorce, and has come through on the other side. He is a living witness that there is hope!

Whether it’s a failed marriage or some other difficulty, we all face tough decisions at some point after life’s disappointments. We must choose to either “go into the house” and enjoy the benefits inside, or stay outside and wallow in self-pity. Winters invites the reader to enter.
